MISSION

To strengthen collaborations and long-term Paediatric capacity through building partnerships with key strategic tertiary academic institutions and hospitals in different parts of Africa.

 

VISION

To train medical, nursing and other health care professionals in Paediatrics, both from South Africa and other African countries, to sub-specialise in General Paediatrics and different Paediatric sub-specialities. To return empowered to provide and build health care capacity in their own countries.

 

NEWS

APFP is proud to congratulate the following fellows who have been awarded an ASID Educational Grant to attend and present their research at the upcoming Ithemba le Afrika conference, a combined congress of the South African Thoracic Society, Allergy Society and the African Society for Immunodeficiences. The conference will be held at Sun City from 5-9 June 2013.

Feedback from Dr. Isaac Tsikhutsu who trained in PICU from March 2011 to February 2012.

isaac Isaac informed us of the progress that has been made with Kericho District Hospital's 6 bed HDU/ICU unit. Isaac has been actively involved in the drawing the plans. The ICU building is progressing well. They have now roofed the building. We have tendered for phase 2 and 3, which consist of finishings and plumbing and electrical works The building is expected to be completed by June 2013.
